Three parks in the region will likely benefit from funding next year, from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund (MNRTF).

The MNRTF board of trustees recently recommended to the Michigan Legislature that 76 recreation development projects and land acquisitions totaling more than $23 million be funded in 2013.

The Governor already said he supports the recommendations which includes $245,400 for the development of the Hubbard Lake North End Park in Alcona county’s Caledonia Township. The money would be used pavilions, shoreline protection, beach volleyball, lighting, handicap bathrooms and more.
