Shoe Year’s Day is coming to Thompson’s Harbor State Park

snowshoes_shadowThe crew at Thompson’s Harbor State Park in Presque Isle County has an afternoon of outdoor activities planned for New Year’s Day.

Organizers are calling their event Shoe Year’s Day and it features hiking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing as well as information about how Michiganders can utilize State Parks and Harbors to stay healthy in 2013.

Things kick-off at 2 p.m. at the Stone Path Cabin and continue until 5 p.m. and all ages are welcome. Snacks will be provided and there will also be free blood pressure checks and monitoring.

A Recreation Passport is required to enter the park.
