Detroit Freepress: BMX bikers hope to turn Brush Park effort into fundraiser

The group that turned an abandoned, trash-filled lot into a series of BMX trails is hoping to make their volunteer effort permanent. The project, led by a photographer known as Camera Jesus and an aspiring actor/writer named Donovon Darius, is called the Brush Park BMX Community Park.

Darius and Joe Gall (aka Camera Jesus) hope to raise $10,000 to turn the former weed-infested land into a destination for BMX enthusiasts from around Michigan – already, the hand-shaped trails in the shadow of Ford Field attract dozens of local riders every evening.
